How often should I visit a dentist?
Dentist visits should be scheduled twice a year, preferrably every 6 months. These will be for regular cleanings. Our dental hygienists will clean your teeth and gums and remove any plaque. This alsoserves as a good time to check for any potential problems to be diagnoesd sooner than later.
How safe are dental x-rays?
Dental x-rays are a useful tool to detect diease or damage that is not visible during your routine dental exam. The x-ray does expose the patient to a low level of radiation. The risk of a harmful effects is low.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Please have the patient forms, a valid ID, and your dental insurance card readily available. If you are tranferring from another practice, bring any documentation they gave you prior to switching.
How often should I floss?
Flossing twice a day is ideal. Flossing helps prevent the sticky substance, plaque, from building up. We recommend you floss at least once a day.
How old should my child be for his/her first visit?
The American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentisty suggest a child should start seeing a dentist within 6 months of their first tooth coming in or by their first birthday.
